Årås is the administrative centre of Austrheim municipality in Hordaland county, Norway. The village is located in the central part of the island of Fosnøyna, about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) northeast of the village of Austrheim. The 0.64-square-kilometre (160-acre) village has a population (2013) of 603, giving the village a population density of 942 inhabitants per square kilometre (2,440/sq mi).[1][3]
