Çağla Baktıroğlu (born September 1, 1988) is a Turkish-Canadian women's ice hockey player. Curremtly, she plays in the Turkish Women's Ice Hockey League for Narmanspor. She is a member of the Turkey women's national ice hockey team. The right-handed forward is 1.78 m (5 ft 10 in) tall at 70 kg (150 lb).

Early life

Born in Cambridge, England, on September 1, 1988, Çağla Baktıroğlu is a British and Turkish citizen, living in Canada.[1] She studied at University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada.[2][3]

Playing career

Baktıroğlu began playing at age eleven in Canada.[2] She is a winger and shoots right.[1][4]

Club

Baktıroğlu was with the University of Windsor Lancers (2007–08, 2009–10) in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. before she played in the Continental Cup in the Czech Republic.[2]

She currently plays in the Turkish Ice Hockey Women's League (TBHL) for Narman

International

Baktıroğlu was admitted to the Turkey women's national ice hockey team in 2011 to take part at the 2011 Winter Universiade held s in Erzurum, Turkey.[2][3]

She took part at the 2015 IIHF Women's World Championship Div. II Group B qualification tournament matches in Hong Kong, where she became top scorer with 10 goals and was named Best Forward.[5][6][7] Baktıroğlu participated at the 2016 IIHF Women's World Championship Div. II Group B tournament matches in Spain.[8]
