.CEO is a new Top Level Domain (TLD) and Platform for Chief Executive Officers (CEOs).
Domain registrants are invited to use Applications on the .CEO Platform.
The Applications are designed to increase the registrant's online influence with their communities.
History
.CEO, often stylized as dotCEO was proposed in ICANN's new generic top-level domain (gTLD) program,[1] and became available to the general public on 15 February 2014. The .CEO Registry[2] is the operator of the string.
The .CEO Platform was launched to 300 CEOs in New York on Tuesday 4 March 2014, and San Francisco on Wed 12 March 2014. Global launch events followed in Singapore, London and Sydney, Los Angeles and Austin, Texas.
During 2014 and 2015 partnership agreements were signed with GoDaddy, Name.com, 101Domain and 70 other domain name registrars.
.CEO Registrations and Members
Since its General Availability release on 15 February 2014, the .CEO TLD has had over 3,000 registrations.[3]
The .CEO Zone File reveals that the majority of registered .CEO domains are the names of individuals, with most other registrations by businesses and brands.
The CEO domain is positioned as a premium URL, providing registered users with the ability to secure their online identity and create extra exposure for their personal brand and company profile.

CEO Organizations
.CEO offers partnership opportunities to CEO Organizations, where .CEO domains and use of the .CEO Platform are used to complement the organization’s membership offering.
.CEO Platform
The sale of a .CEO domain is accompanied by access to the .CEO Platform. The .CEO Platform is built using PeopleBrowsr’s SocialOS[4] proprietary technology.
Registrants are offered their own corporate profile page, called an Identity Page. Identity Pages include the user’s domain name, business name, position and bio, along with social media information and a confidential contact form.
Registrants are granted access to the .CEO Message Center where they can communicate with other Members without revealing personal contact details.
Domains are grouped into both interest- and location-based directories, called Communities. There are currently over 20 Communities.

To date, .CEO has leveraged Inbound and Social Media marketing techniques to increase market awareness and grow membership.

Use of CEO Acronym
The .CEO acronym has been referred to by domain registrants as several alternatives to the widely accepted, “Chief Executive Officer”.
