1001-1011 Jefferson Street is a 145m. (476 ft.) proposed skyscraper in Wilmington, Delaware. It will be Wilmington's first skyscraper above 400 ft! It's site is located just across the street from WFSF Bank Headquarters and is just 2 min. from I-95. The tower will feature 35 stories of mixed-use space. The skyscraper was originally proposed in 2013 and approved in late 2015. The tower will connect to an existing 9 story parking garage and a 10 story vacant office building. If this tower is built, it will become Wilmington and Delaware's new tallest building - surpassing the 104m. (340 ft. 27story) River Tower at Christina Landing. In 2016, the tower's site looks to be getting prepared for construction (I'll snap a picture next time I am in Wilmington) and if this tower gets built, its estimated to be completed somewhere around 2018-2020!

History

Colonial Parking is a company that reserves and operates parking lots/garages in downtown Wilmington, Delaware and at the Philadelphia International Airport. They've been doing really well by attracting people and providing costs less than standard parking garages and have grown ever since 1956. It wasn't until 2013 when colonial parking has proposed to turn 6 of their existing parking lots in Wilmington, Delaware into some skyscrapers with parking garages underneath or next to them. 1001-1011 Jefferson Street is the tallest tower proposed by them which rises 476ft. (145m. 35 stories). This building would become Wilmington's tallest building if built!


Soon after in late 2015, the skyscraper has been approved. In 2016, The site has started to prepare for the new tower, which will rise a stunning 476ft. and boast 35 stories of mixed-use space such as offices, apartments/condos, retail space, and a 9 story parking garage. It's estimated to be completed anywhere between 2018-2020. This will beat the current tallest building in Wilmington by a good 136ft.
