12th Alpini Regiment
The 12th Alpini Regiment (Italian: 12° Reggimento Alpini) was a short lived (15 February 1936 to 1 July 1937 and 8 August 1992 to 31 January 1997) light Infantry regiment of the Italian Army, specializing in Mountain Combat. It was part of the Alpine Brigade Cadore and based in the city of Pieve di Cadore and consisted of the single Pieve di Cadore battalion. The Alpini are a mountain infantry corps of the Italian Army, that distinguished itself in combat during World War I and World War II.
