1887 Wimbledon Championships – Gentlemen's Singles
Herbert Lawford defeated Ernest Renshaw 6–2, 6–3, 2–6, 4–6, 6–4 in the All Comers Final, and then defeated the reigning champion William Renshaw by a walkover in the Challenge Round to win the 1887 Wimbledon Championships.[1][2] Renshaw was unable to play due to a tennis elbow.[3]
