- April - The Hiroshima Prefectural Commercial Exhibition, designed by Jan Letzel, is opened. Today, it is known as the Hiroshima Peace Memorial.

- Kumarakottam Temple, Kanchipuram, India rebuilt.
- Yosemite Lodge at the Falls, Yosemite Village, California.
