Dale Alexander's .372 batting average in 1932 is tied with Nomar Garciaparra for the 4th highest single-season batting average in franchise history. Note: most online references give Alexander's average as .367, not .372. In any event, there is also a controversy about his being awarded the batting title that year as he had played in only 124 games.
