• FC Dynamo Kyiv qualified for CWC 1965-66 by winning the national cup this year.
• According to the rules, if two teams had the equal number of points the winner was decided by the final match between them. The game took part in Tashkent, Uzbekistan SSR with FC Dinamo Tbilisi winning 4-1 after extra time.
