• January 10 - A plebiscite referendum is held among the citizens' assemblies to ratify the new Constitution.
• January 15 - Infamous Chinese drug lord Lim Seng faced his public execution by firing squad at a lot behind the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Fort Bonifacio,^[1] the country's first and last of its kind in the post-war Philippine history.
• July 27 - 28 – National referendum was held wherein 90.77% of the Citizen Assemblies voted for the ratification of the 1973 Constitution and the continuation of Martial Law.
• November 18 - 23 – The inaugural Asian Athletics Championships was held in Marikina.
