Summary

Powered by last year's best import Russell Murray, Yco-Tanduay finish the Reinforced Filipino Conference elimination phase with an even 9-win, 9-loss slate. The Esquires were swept in two games by Toyota Super Corollas in the best-of-three quarterfinals.

With 6-11 Jerome Henderson and 6-8 Curtis Berry as their imports in the Open Conference, Yco-Tanduay were third behind N-Rich Coffee and Gilbey's Gin with an 11-7 card after 18 games in the elimination phase, going into the final playing date of the quarterfinal round on November 23, all four teams; Yco-Tanduay, Toyota, San Miguel and U/Tex were tied at 1-win, 1-loss each. The Esquires lost to Toyota Super Corollas, 105-116, and were eliminated from the four-team semifinals.
