[1] The 1989 Freedom Bowl Was a post season College football bowl game between the Washington Huskies of the Pacific-10 Conference and the Florida Gators of the Southeastern Conference, who were led by All-American Running Back Emmitt Smith. Washington won the game 34-7. Following the game, Smith was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys and had a career involving three Super Bowl Wins, a league MVP and has been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
