2002 FIFA World Cup qualification (OFC)

A total of 34 teams entered the competition. The Oceanian zone was allocated 0.5 places (out of 8766) in the final tournament.

There would be two rounds of play:

Australia's 31–0 win over American Samoa established a World Cup record for the highest margin of victory in a qualifying match.
