The 2003 AFF Futsal Championship was held in Kuantan, Malaysia from 1 July to 6 July 2003. Cambodia were the original hosts for this edition of the tournament but were unable to get their venue ready in time. Subsequently, the ASEAN Football Federation requested Malaysia to take over as hosts.[1]
Defending champions Thailand, have sent a reserve team for this tournament as their main players were left behind to prepare for the AFC Futsal Championship which took place at the end of the month.[2]
