The 334-lap, 501 miles (806 km) event was held on October 17 at the 1.5 miles (2.4 km) Lowe's Motor Speedway in the Charlotte, North Carolina suburb of Concord. ABC telecast the race beginning at 7 PM US EDT and the Performance Racing Network (Terrestrial) along with Sirius XM Radio (Satellite) provided radio coverage starting at the same time.
Jimmie Johnson had the perfect weekend by winning all 3 practice sessions, the pole, and the race. He increased his championship lead and chances for a fourth consecutive title.
