The 2010 Scheldeprijs cycling race took place on 7 April 2010. It was the 98th time the Scheldeprijs was run. The peloton started very fast. 50 kilometres were finished after one hour. After 56 kilometres 8 cyclists made a breakaway: Jonas Ljungblad for Omega Pharma-Lotto, Mathew Hayman for Team Sky, Jackson Stewart for BMC Racing Team, David Boucher for Landbouwkrediet, Arnoud van Groen for Vacansoleil, Cyril Lemoine for Saur-Sojasun, Gregory Joseph for Topsport Vlaanderen-Mercator, Niko Eeckhout for An Post–Sean Kelly. They made a gap from a maximum of six minutes. After 168 kilometres Jackson Stewart is left behind by the lead of the race. After 192 kilometres only five cyclists were left: Mathew Hayman, Niko Eeckhout, Jonas Ljungblad, Arnoud van Groen and Cyril Lemoine. But after 195 kilometres they got caught by the peloton. It turned out in a bunch sprint, were Tyler Farrar from Garmin-Transitions was fastest by far. He won the 98th Scheldeprijs before Robbie McEwen for Team Katusha and Robert Förster for Team Milram.
