The 2012 Internazionali BNL d'Italia was a tennis tournament that took place from 14–21 May 2012. It was the 69th edition of the tournament and was classified as an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event on the 2012 ATP World Tour. Novak Djokovic was the defending champion, but lost to Rafael Nadal 7–5, 6–3 in the final. With the win, Nadal became the first player to win this event six times.
