The 2013 season will be the Northern Fury's third season as a football franchise and it will be their first season in the National Premier League Queensland Conference. This will be the first time in over two years since the club has played a competitive football match.

Key Dates
- 3 October 2012: The Northern Fury FC was granted a license to compete in the Queensland competition called National Premier League Queensland by replacing the North Queensland Razorbacks that competed in the Queensland State League competition. They renamed themselves from the North Queensland Fury to the Northern Fury.[1]
- 9 November 2012: Northern Fury unveiled Gareth Edds as the head coach for the upcoming season by being a player-coach.[2]
- 21 December 2012: Paul Smalley was announced as the general manager for the club.[3]
- 7 March 2013: The club unveiled their new playing strip.[4]
- 16 March 2013: The club recorded their biggest ever victory as a franchise winning 6-1 against Central Queensland Energy. Also they broke a 12-game winless streak and a 9-game losing streak. Reyze Kelly tied the record at the club for most goals in a game with 2 along with Robbie Fowler and Dyron Daal.
- 7 April 2013: The games against Western Pride FC was the club's first home game in Townsville since 26 January 2011 against the Melbourne Victory.
- 14 April 2013: The club tied their record for the biggest win against the QAS winning 6-1. Alex Read broke a club record for the most goals in a game with 3 becoming the first fury player in history to score a hat trick in a competitive game.
- 22 June 2013: Alex Read broke the club's record for most goals ever scored as well as most goals scored in a season surpassing Robbie Fowler's record of 9 goals.
- 13 July 2013: The Fury broke the club's record for most consecutive games undefeated with a win against Palm Beach Sharks 2-1 extending their undefeated streak to 6 games. The club also broke their winning game streak of 2 with that victory extending it to 3 games.
- 27 July 2013: Gareth Edds broke the club's record for most goals in a game with 4 against Olympic FC which was previously held by Alex Read who only broke the club's record back in April with 3 goals against QAS.
