2014 PIHA Pro playoffs
The 2014 PIHA Pro playoffs of the Professional Inline Hockey Association's (PIHA) Pro Division began on January 11, 2014,[1] following the conclusion of the 2013–14 PIHA Pro regular season. The playoffs will end no later than February 23, 2014.[1]
Playoff seeds
After the regular season, ten teams qualified for the playoffs. The Marple Gladiators were the Eastern Conference regular season champions and the Best Overall Record Trophy winners with the best record in the PIHA Pro at 43 points. The Parker Prowlers earned the top seed in the Western Conference with 42 points.
Eastern Conference
- Marple Gladiators, Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference regular season champions – 43 points
- Scottdale Inferno – 34 points
- Long Island Snipers – 33 points
- Hershey Typhoon – 27 points
- Hatfield Scorchers – 25 points (11 wins; 86 goals against)
- New Jersey Braves – 25 points (11 wins; 90 goals against)
- ^ Hatfield and New Jersey finished with the same total points as the Pottstown Team Blue, had more wins to earn the two playoff berths.
- ^ Hatfield finished with exactly the same record as New Jersey (including number of wins) and earned the same number of points (both with two) in the two game season series between them, but had fewer goals against (the Scorchers with 86, the Braves with 90) to earn the 5th spot.
Western Conference
- Parker Prowlers, Rocky Mountain Division and Western Conference regular season champions – 42 points
- Colorado Springs Thunder – 40 points
- Colorado Stallions – 20 points
- Mile High Miners – 14 points
Playoff bracket
In each round, the highest remaining seed in each conference is matched against the lowest remaining seed. The higher-seeded team is awarded home floor advantage or a league determined location. In the Founders Cup Finals, the home team is determined based on regular season points. Each best-of-three series follows a 1–1–1 format: the higher-seeded team plays as home team for game one (and game three, if necessary), and the lower-seeded team is as home team for game two. Each best-of-five series follows a 2–2–1 format: the higher-seeded team plays as home team for games one two (and game five, if necessary), and the lower-seeded team is as home team for game two (and game four, if necessary). Each best-of-seven series follows a 2–2–1–1–1 format: the higher-seeded team plays as home team for game one and two (and games five and seven, if necessary), and the lower-seeded team is as home team for games three and four (and game six, if necessary).
