The 2015–16 Charlotte Checkers season was the franchise's 6th season in the American Hockey League.

Off-season

The Carolina Hurricanes, NHL affiliate of the Checkers, decided not to renew the contract of coach Jeff Daniels.[1] Mark Morris was hired to coach the Checkers this season.[2] The Checkers will play home games at Bojangles' Coliseum this season instead of Time Warner Cable Arena.[3] AHL realignment places the Checkers in the Central Division starting this season.[4]

Regular Season

The Checkers opened the season on October 10, 2015 with a 4–1 victory over the Iowa Wild in Des Moines, Iowa.[5] After the first three games, the Checkers were undefeated which was the best start in franchise history.[6]
