The 2016–17 Colorado Buffaloes men's basketball team represent the University of Colorado in the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. This is Tad Boyle's seventh season as head coach at Colorado. The Buffaloes play their home games at Coors Events Center in Boulder, Colorado as members of the Pac-12 Conference.

Previous season

The Buffaloes finished the season with an overall record of 22–12, and 10–8 in conference play. In the Pac-12 Tournament the Buffaloes defeated Washington State in the first round before losing to Arizona in the quarterfinals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament as an 8-seed in the South region where they lost to 9-seed Connecticut in the first round.
