The 2016–17 George Mason Patriots Men's basketball team will represent George Mason University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. It will be the 51st season for the program.

Previous Season

The Patriots finished the season with an overall record of 11–22, with a record of 5–13 in the Atlantic 10 regular season for a twelfth place finish. In the 2016 Atlantic 10 Tournament, the Patriots were defeated by Saint Louis, 83–78 in the first round.
