The 2016–17 UAB Blazers basketball team represents the University of Alabama at Birmingham during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Blazers, led by 1st year head coach Robert Ehsan, play their home games at the Bartow Arena as members of Conference USA.

Previous season

The Blazers finished the season 26-7 overall, 16-2 in Conference USA and were the regular season champions of the league. They received an automatic bid to the NIT Tournament where they lost in the first round to BYU.
