The 2016 Abilene Christian Wildcats football team will represent Abilene Christian University in the 2016 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Wildcats will be in their final transition season of collegiate football at the FCS level. They will be led by fifth year head coach Ken Collums. They will play their home games at Shotwell Stadium. The 2016 season will be the final season for Shotwell Stadium. Beginning with the 2017 season, the Wildcats home will be the on-campus Wildcat Stadium which is currently under construction.

Previous season

The Wildcats finished the 2015 season 3–8, 3–6 in Southland play to finish in a three way tie for eighth place.

TV and radio

All Abilene Christian games will be broadcast on KTLT, also known as Sports Radio 98.1 The Ticket, and in Dallas on KBXD as part of the Abilene Christian Wildcats Cumulus radio network.

Video of all home games (except those broadcast via ASN or ESPN3) will be offered live through Stretch Internet via ACU TV, a paid subscription service. Audio of all road games will also be available through ACU TV at no charge.
