The 2016 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will be the thirty-second season of the Whelen Modified Tour (WMT). It will begin with the Icebreaker 150 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on April 10 and will conclude with the Sunoco World Series 150 at the same venue on October 16. Doug Coby will enter the season as the defending Drivers' Champion. Doug Coby is the championship leader after two races, one point in front of Timmy Solomito.

Schedule

The Whelen All-Star Shootout does not count towards the championship. Nine of the eighteen races in the 2016 season will be televised on NBCSN and will be on a tape delay basis.[6] The Icebreaker 150 was shown live on FansChoice.tv.[7]

  1. The Bush's Beans 150 will be held as a combined event, with competitors from the Whelen Modified Tour competing along with competitors for the Whelen Southern Modified Tour. The race will be run with a series-based point distribution, where drivers receive points and statistical credit for their finish relative to other drivers in their series, not to the whole field in general.
