2016 in Brazil sees Rio de Janeiro host the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 2016 Summer Paralympics in August. This comes 2 years after Rio de Janeiro hosted the 2014 FIFA World Cup. 2016 will be Brazil's 115th season of competitive football and in international competition, it will see Brazil play qualification matches for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
