2017 Women's Rugby World Cup

The 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup will be the eighth edition of the Women's Rugby World Cup and will be held in Ireland in August 2017. The matches will be held in Dublin and Belfast.[1] The pool stages will be held at University College Dublin with the semi finals and finals being held at Queen's University Belfast and Kingspan Stadium in Belfast.[2]

The event will take place 3 years after the last Women's Rugby World Cup because World Rugby want to move away from clashing with other events.[3] The event will return to a four-year cycle after 2017[4] On 4 June 2015 it was announced that Garrett Tubridy has been appointed tournament director for the event.[5]

Bidding process

on 2 March 2015 it was announced that the Irish Rugby Football Union had submitted a bid to host to Women's Rugby World Cup in August 2017.[6] Ireland made the only bid to host the event. On 13 May 2015 it was announced that Ireland would host the event in Dublin and Belfast.[7]
