History

Rebbitzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson's gravesite visited each year on the 22nd of Shvat

Chaya Mushka Schneerson, the wife of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the seventh Rebbe of the Chabad Hasidic movement, died on the Hebrew day of 22nd of Shvat, 5788 (February 10, 1988). Chaya Mushka is known in the Chabad community as "the Rebbetzin".[2][3]

The anniversary of her death, or "yartzeit", is marked each year by the Chabad community by public gatherings, or "farbrengens".[4] The day is also marked by a number of Chabad girls and women's conventions.[5]

Many Chabad Hasidim visit the grave of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka on the 22nd of Shvat. Visitors accompany the visit by praying at the grave of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson at Ohel Chabad-Lubavitch.[6]

Kinus Hashluchos

The most popular event held in honor of the 22nd of Shvat is the Kinus Hashluchos, the annual convention of the women Shluchos, or Chabad emissaries.[7][8]
