2U is a two-time Juno nominated album and the second Canadian-released album from singer-songwriter Keshia Chanté, which was also slated to be released in 2006 through a new venture between Sony Urban/Epic Records and SonyBMG Canada. This was slated to be Chanté's first worldwide release. The video for Keshia Chanté's first single "Been Gone" was filmed in August 2006 by director by Little X and was released in Canada on September 13. It was later slated as "Kiss" and then last minute changed to "2U" which is the second single and title track "2U". 2U was shot on October 22, 2006 in Miami. The single debuted on her official MySpace page in early November and ran through March. Her 3rd single titled "Fallen" was released at the end of April and features Roc-A-Fella rapper Freeway. An underground remix featured rapper Drake, better known as Aubrey Graham from Degrassi: The Next Generation. The album was released in Canada on December 5, 2006. The album was still tentative to be released as of early 2007. The album was later released in May in Japan.

SonyUrban/Epic asked for "Little Things" from her debut album to be included for the U.S release.

Chante helped co-written "Been Gone", "2U", "Ring The Alarm", "Sorry" and "Be About Yours" with the songwriters.

Chante was nominated for Ring the Alarm an Ericson Sony Award, and Juno Awards for both Been Gone & 2U.[1]

She worked with Danja (BIG, Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake, Happy Perez (Ludacris), Matrax (Missy Elliott, P.Diddy), Rock Wilder (Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes) [1]
