2d Air Support Operations Squadron
The United States Air Force's 2d Air Support Operations Squadron (2 ASOS) is a combat support unit located at Vilseck, Germany. The 2 ASOS provides Tactical Command and Control of air power assets to the Joint Forces Air Component Commander and Joint Forces Land Component Commander for combat operations.
Mission

The 2nd ASOS trains, equips, and maintains mission-ready Air Liaison, Terminal Attack Control, and Weather Observation/Forecasting elements to support the commanders of US Army Europe subordinate units, such as the 2nd Stryker Regiment, 172nd Infantry Brigade and 12th Combat Aviation Brigade.
