3628 Božněmcová, provisionally known as 1979 WD, is a main belt asteroid with an orbital period of 1,477 days (4.04 years).[1] The asteroid was discovered at the Czech Kleť Observatory on November 25, 1979 and named in memory of Božena Němcová (1820–1862), a Czech writer, author of the well-known book The Grandma.[2]

3628 Boznemcová is the best known asteroid of the rare group of O-type asteroids. Its spectra best fits those of the L6 and LL6 ordinary chondrite-type meteorites.[3]
