The 61 Division is a division of the Sri Lanka Army. Established on 5 May 2008, the division is currently based in Velankulam in the Northern Province.[1] The division is a part of Security Forces Headquarters – Wanni and has three brigades and six battalions.[1] Brigadier D. M. W. W. W. M. R. B. M. Daulagala has been commander of the division since 3 January 2013.[1] The division is responsible for 1,448 square kilometres (559 sq mi) of territory.[2]

 - 9th Battalion, Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment
 - 1st Battalion, Sri Lanka National Guard

- 26th Battalion, Sri Lanka Light Infantry
