Arjun Ivatury, known professionally as 6ix, is an American producer and songwriter from Bowie, Maryland. He is the in-house producer for rapper Logic. He is currently associated with independent record label Visionary Music Group. 6ix produces many of Logic's songs (starting with the Young Sinatra mixtape in 2011) and has produced for other artists such as Dizzy Wright, Michael Christmas, and former Visionary artist QuESt.
Music career
6ix was making beats in Maryland and was in college when he heard of Logic. When he was finally able to meet Logic, he gave him an instrumental CD and emailed him numerous beats. Due to some of his production resembling that of J. Cole's mixtape Friday Night Lights and Kanye West's earlier work, Logic began to work closely with 6ix.[1] In 2011, Logic released his mixtape Young Sinatra with four of the 22 songs produced by 6ix. In 2012, Logic released his third mixtape Young Sinatra: Undeniable.
After it was announced that Logic signed to Def Jam Records, Logic revealed that 6ix would be one of many producers on his debut album along with Hit-Boy, C-Sick, No I.D., and more.[2] 6ix dropped out of pre-med at the University of Maryland to move to Los Angeles with Logic.[1] In 2013, 6ix contributed to the production of Logic's fourth mixtape Young Sinatra: Welcome to Forever and Dizzy Wright's EP, State of Mind. In 2014, 6ix produced six of the songs on Visionary artist QuESt's mixtape Searching Sylvan. He later produced numerous songs on Logic's debut album Under Pressure, giving 6ix an even bigger buzz. He provided production for nine songs on Logic's sophomore album The Incredible True Story, released on November 13, 2015.
