A 7 and 7 is a popular type of highball, a mixed alcoholic drink containing Seagram's Seven Crown and 7 Up.[1] It is typically served with ice.

During the episode "Casino Night" from Season 2, Episode 22 of The Office Ryan Howard orders this drink with "eight maraschino cherries, sugar on the rim, blended if you can" for then-girlfriend Kelly.

In season 1 and 2 of the TV show The O.C., the drink is frequently mentioned by members of Ryan Atwood's (the protagonist) family as they only order this one at bars, etc. In the pilot, Kirsten Cohen is distressed when she catches Ryan asking for one at a party she is hosting.

This is frequently ordered in the Martin Scorsese 1973 film Mean Streets, as well as being ordered in 1990's Goodfellas.

John Travolta's character frequently orders a "Seven-Seven" in the 1977 film Saturday Night Fever.

Rita orders a double 7 and 7 for herself and Becca in the 2011 film Bridesmaids.

In the 2008 Coen brothers film Burn After Reading, Richard Jenkins's character, Ted, orders a "7 and 7" at a bar after being told "I hate you! I hate you!" by Frances McDormand's character.

In season 2 of Community, Episode 10 "Mixology Certification", Troy suggests the drink as an option for his first legal alcoholic drink, as a tribute to his uncle. Britta and Jeff both mock the idea almost immediately, but later in the episode Troy orders it anyway, before discarding it to drive the group home.
