8th Ohio Independent Battery was an artillery battery that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War.

Service

The battery was organized at Camp Dennison near Cincinnati, Ohio and mustered in for a three-year enlistment on March 11, 1862 under Captain Louis Markgraf.

The battery lost a total of 23 men during service; 1 enlisted men killed, 22 enlisted men died of disease.
