A. E. Robertson

Rev. Archibald "Archie" Eneas Robertson (1870 in Helensburgh 1958), was a Church of Scotland minister. He is generally regarded in 1901 as being the first mountaineer to "bag" all of Sir Hugh Munro, 4th Baronet's 283 peaks over 3,000 feet.[1] After 1907 he became minister of Braes of Rannoch (near the Bridge of Gaur, on the River Gaur) where Robertson made an effort to learn Scottish Gaelic, to deliver his sermons in Gaelic and try and keep the language alive.[2] However it is now known that Robertson turned back before the summit of Ben Wyvis due to adverse weather. Nor was the The Inaccessible Pinnacle of Sgùrr Dearg included in 1901.[3]
