A. L. Srinivasan (also known as A.L.S) was a Tamil film producer who is known for having introduced many directors in Tamil cinema.

Biography

Srinivasan was the sixth child in a family that had nine children. His younger brother Kannadasan was a poet and lyricist in Tamil cinema.[1] Starting his career as a financier, Srinivasan slowly graduated to become a distributor and producer. He also owned film studios in Madras and Coimbatore. As a producer, he is credited for having introduced directors such as A. Bhimsingh, Puttanna Kanagal, K. S. Gopalakrishnan and P. Madhavan.[2] Srinivasan was married to S. Varalakshmi, a Telugu and Tamil actress.[1]
