A.W. Jenkinson Forest Products (known as A.W. Jenkinson) is a privately owned forestry company based in Clifton, Cumbria, England. Formed in the mid-1960s, the A.W. Jenkinson group of companies has grown to the extent that it now handles over 3 million tonnes of roundwood, chips, sawdust, bark, recycled wood-fibre, green waste and other timber co-products.

History

The company was founded by Allan Wilson Jenkinson in the mid-1960s when Jenkinson started collecting unwanted sawdust from the mills around Penrith in Cumbria using a single tractor and trailer.

Divisions

The company is a key player across the forest product industries and is a major supplier of materials and services to the panelboard, horticulture, biomass and paper industries. The logistics arm is probably the best recognised division of the company, with its striking green and white wagons that can be seen up and down the UK road network.
