AD Boyz is a musical band of two brothers, Aditya Sharma and Diwakar Sharma, who sings and composes music for Bollywood movies. The band also has the third member, Shammi, who writes lyrics for the band's songs. Based in Mumbai, the Indian origin band is credited to have given chart-buster songs like Nagada Nagada from Jab We Met and Haddipa from Dil Bole Hadippa! and are the youngest composers to have worked with legendary singer, Asha Bhosle at the very young age of fifteen.[1] The duo is currently working with international music icon, Daddy Yankee on a song called Lovumba, Hindi version of which is called Dil-Ruba Lovumba. [2]

Early life

Born in a Hindu family in district of Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh, the brothers’ training for music started at the nascent age of three as their family was a musical one. It was their passion for music and Bollywood that made them move from Dharamsala to Mumbai to try their luck in Bollywood in their teenage.

Career

The duo, Aditya and Diwakar, landed in Mumbai to pursue their dream in the year 2006 but had hard luck then. However, it was in the year 2007 when they had started assisting music director Monty Sharma in his movies. Then it was in the same year when the duo was introduced to legendary actor Dev Anand by Bollywood’s veteran actress and dancer, Madhumati; and after listening to some their compositions, Dev Saab had signed the youngsters for his upcoming film, Chargesheet.

As the film took some years to get released, the duo moved on to do a promotional song for Akshay Kumar’s De Dana Dan [3] which was an instant hit. It was among those years only when the duo impressed music director Pritam by auditioning in a lift and later worked with him on multiple projects.

One of the biggest hit of the duo had come in the year 2011 with Chak Glassi from the movie Pyaar Ka Punchnama which featured on ‘Everybody On The Dance Floor 12’ and had topped many charts since then.[4]

Ganpati Aaya, the fusion version of a devotional song by the Ad Boyz, had opened to a great response by the crowd at ‘Miss Universe Awards Night’ of Sushmita Sen’s I AM She 2012.[5] The duo is currently planning to work with several musical icons for their upcoming projects.
