ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium formerly Andhra Cricket Association-Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association Cricket Stadium or ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Visakhapatnam, India.

The picturesque ACA-VDCA ground, set on the outskirts of Visakhapatnam midst scenic hills, has hosted 5 ODI and a T20I so far apart from hosting IPL matches. The stadium has a two-tier architecture and designed in such a way that view of the match in action is not obstructed regardless of the seating location.

History

In November 2015, the stadium was selected one of the six new Test venue along with Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, JSCA International Stadium Complex, Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium and Holkar Stadium in India.[1]

The stadium is known for the lush green outfield and has one of the most well maintained stadium in the country. The grass was specially brought from the Caribbean. In addition to this the stadium has the countries best water drainage facilities. The stadium currently seats 38,000, although there are plans to increase its capacity to 50,000 with the addition of more tiers to the stands. It is currently used mainly for cricket matches. The stadium was built in 2003 and has a capacity of 30,000 seats. It has floodlight facilities to host a D/N match and has one of the best draining facility in India. The stadium has hosted 5 ODI matches. It is located on NH5 near Pothinmallayapalem", a suburb of Visakhapatnam.

This stadium was used as an IPL venue for the Deccan Chargers in 2012. Sunrisers Hyderabad played their first 3 IPL home games at this venue in 2015.

T20

This venue was going to host a T20 International but the match was abandoned due to inclement weather. It hosted IPL Matches and became a home venue for Deccan Chargers and Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2012 and 2015 respectively.

The ground hosted its first T20 International match in 2016 Sri Lankan tour. India set in to a big win, gave Sri Lankans their lowest total in T20Is.
