ATM: Er Rak Error (retitled later to ATM) is a 2012 Thai language romantic comedy film that became one of Thailand's all-time top-grossing films shortly after its release.

Synopsis

In a bank that forbids fraternization lest one person in the couple be forced out, Sua (Chantavit Dhanasevi) and Jib (Preechaya Pongthananikorn) have nevertheless been discreetly dating for 5 years. Frustrated with having to keep their relationship hidden, Sua and Jib decide to get married. However, both Sua and Jib are career-bound overachievers, and neither are willing to resign and put marriage before career. Then one of the bank's automated teller machines malfunctions, causing it to give out double the amount of cash requested by each user, and word spreads quickly before the machine is shut down. Sua and Jib then mutually agree to a competition in which whoever recovers the lost money first can keep their job, but the other must quit. Both go to extreme lengths to be victorious.

Cast

A number of well-known Thai footballers and other figures had cameo appearances in the film.

Reception

Within four weeks of the film's release, ATM: Er Rak Error had grossed over 150 million baht, making it Thailand's seventh top-grossing film of all time[1] and GTH's highest grossing film until it was surpassed in 2013 by Pee Mak.
