David Nusair of Reel Film Reviews wrote "One can only hope that this marks a temporary stumble for an otherwise talented filmmaker." Ben Kenigsberg of Variety called the film "so tidily plotted, so committed to its improve-thyself epiphanies, that it never transcends its own artifice."
