Aasaanjobs is an end-to-end employment website that connects entry level job seekers with employers.[1][2] It was founded in 2014[3] and is based out of Powai, Mumbai, India, expanding its presence to Pune[4] and Delhi[5] during 2015-16.
Aasaanjobs was founded to standardise job entry access for candidates of entry to mid-level jobs. Aasaanjobs is an online marketplace where recruiters meet job seekers.[6][7] Aasaanjobs was launched by a group of IIT Bombay alumni in 2014. The portal features over 200,000 verified job seekers and around 6200 job openings.
Website
Desktop
The desktop version of the website allows a candidate to search for jobs based on factors like locality of the office, work timings and salary expectations.[8]
Employers can use the desktop version of the app to post a job requirement for free and shortlist candidates based on filters such as skill ratings and location.[9]
WAP and mobile apps
Aasaanjobs published a WAP website in 2015, where job seekers can register and search for jobs using feature phones.[10]
The site also has a mobile app for smartphones and similar devices.[11]
Business model
Job seekers
All the registered candidates are assigned an online ID and the portal’s algorithms filter through its database to display relevant candidates matching a recruiter’s job requirement. The company offers a transparent in-and-out scenario of job expectations with a particular company and the ability to search for jobs based on location and salary to candidates. The services provided to candidates are free of cost.[12]
Employers
Permanent recruitment
Employers can choose to hire employees permanently by purchasing interview credits and short-listing candidates from a list of recommended job seekers according to the skill requirements for the job, thus paying only per valid interview and reducing their in-house spent on recruitment.[13]
Contractual Staffing
For companies who want to hire in bulk, recruiters can also choose to outsource their administrative and payroll hassles by opting for contractual staffing services, wherein companies can get the freedom to focus on core business goals and put a part of their workforce under third party payroll, saving on costs as well as scale up and down according to market trends.[14]
Products
Aasaanjobs launched “Hunarr” for job-seekers, which is an online listing platform for training courses that brings learner closer to reputed training institutes and colleges.[15][16]
Funding
The job portal raised a seed funding of $1.5 million, earlier in 2015, from Inventus Capital Partners and IDG Ventures India to ramp up operations in Mumbai.[17][18][19]
In 2016, Aasaanjobs raised $5 million (nearly INR 34 crore) in a Series A round of funding led by Aspada Advisors with participation from the existing investors - IDG Ventures and Inventus Capital.[20]
Awards and recognitions
Dinesh Goel, cofounder and CEO of Aasaanjobs, was featured in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list - a list of 300 of the top promising young leaders, daring entrepreneurs and game changers across 10 different sectors in Asia.[21]
