Abaaq al-Khwarazmi
Aziz ibn Abaaq al-Khwarazmi (died 1079) was a commander under Malik Shah I and later became the first Seljuk ruler to gain independence from the Great Seljuk Empire. He founded a state (a sultanate or emirate) in Damascus in 1076, where he commenced the construction of the Citadel of Damascus. His successor was the brother of Malik Shah, Tutush I.
