Abdulkadir Kure was governor of Niger State in Nigeria from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007. He is a member of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP).
In May 2000, he introduced Sharia law in Niger State.
Personal life
Kure is from the Jantabo royal family of the Lapai Emirate. His Mother Hauwa kulu was very influential within the Nupe tribe. Kure is married to Zainab Abdulkadir Kure, a former civil servant and, since 2007, a member of the Nigerian Senate. They have two daughters and four sons. [1]
