Abhishek Dutta

Abhishek Dutta a Jadavpur University alumni, is an Indian architect, who received National Awards for Excellence in Architectural Thesis by NIASA, Council of Architecture India in 2006 for his thesis on "Transformable Multi-functional Residence". His works was showcased in NDTV Goodtimes Next Big Thing show. After his Initial research with DRDO on 'Strategic Shelters', he started his practice along with his classmate Susweta who is also an alumni from Jadavpur University. He has been actively involved with Indian Institute of Architects, West Bengal Chapter. He has been teaching and giving lectures on architecture in Jadavpur University, Idea College of Architecture, Nashik, Amity University, Kolkata and many other institutes of repute. In 2015, Abhishek was awarded the First Prize for Housing for Smart Cities, Housing Innovation Challenge 2015, by Saint-Gobain. His thoughts and designs have been recognised and well appreciated among the fraternity of Indian Architects and beyond. He is associated with Arcon Design for quite a long time and also working in various architectural methods to develop earth quake proof buildings, residential and commercial complexes. Abhishek Dutta believes in dialogue between academics and research with professional practices in design innovation. He is a very keen observer of Design trends in alternative development and experimental Architecture.
