Abner N. Spencer
Abner Nutting Spencer (May 11, 1820 – November 14, 1879) was an American farmer, for whom Spencers Grove, Iowa is named.
He was born to Hon. William and Martha (Nutting) Spencer in Vermont. He moved to Iowa in 1841, and began with a small farm. When he died, he had hundreds of acres to his name, including a fruit grove known across the county. He was a devout Christian, involved in the local church. He also served as postmaster in Spencer's Grove. [1][2][3]
