Absolute First Album (re-released as Breaking Heart) is the debut studio album by South Korean girl group T-ara. The album was initially planned to be released earlier as an extended play, however, it was decided that a full album would be released instead. Including the four singles released earlier in the year, the album spawned seven hit songs including "Good Person", "Lie", "TTL (Time to Love)", "TTL Listen 2", "Bo Peep Bo Peep", "Like The First Time", and "You Drive Me Crazy". One track on the album, "Good Person", had to be re-recorded due to the member lineup changing after the original release of the song.
Release
In November 2009, it was first announced that T-ara would be releasing their first EP. The next week, it had been changed to a full-length album and was released in digital format on November 27, with the physical release following on December 4.[2]
Promotion
In order to promote the album, T-ara released two potential title tracks along with the digital release on November 27. After the music video teasers for "Bo Peep Bo Peep" and "처음처럼" were released, a poll was conducted in order to determine the song that would become the lead single for the album.[3] As the promotions for "처음처럼" began in 2010, main vocalist Park Soyeon was diagnosed with H1N1 and promotions quickly ended.[4]
Re-release
In early February 2010 it was announced that T-ara would be releasing a repackaged version of the album with a new title track in order to thank their fans for the success of their first album.[5] The title track for the re-release of the album, 너때문에 미쳐, was penned by singer-songwriter Wheesung.[6] The re-release was called Breaking Heart.
