The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Arabic: شركة بترول أبوظبي الوطنية) or ADNOC is the state-owned oil company of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). According to the Oil & Gas Journal estimates as of January 2015, the UAE holds the seventh-largest proved reserves of oil in the world at 97.8 billion barrels, with most of the reserves located in Abu Dhabi (approximately 94% of the UAE's total).[1] It is world's 11th biggest company by oil production, standing at 2.9 million barrels per day.[2] It is the UAE's biggest company. ADNOC is building a $1.2 billion headquarters with over 300 offices for its management.

ADNOC is one of the world's leading company by oil reserves. The company operates two oil refineries which are Ruwais and Umm Al Nar. ADNOC has 18 subsidiary companies, both on upstream and downstream.

ADNOC is developing both onshore and offshore gas fields. Natural gas is exported in the form of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and supplied for local electricity and water utilities, to other industries including petrochemicals plants and for re-injection into reservoirs to improve oil and condensate is the eighth largest recipient of US federal contract dollars, receiving a total of about $900,000 in 2008 alone.[3]

As a fully integrated oil and gas company, ADNOC operations fulfill every aspect of process in the petroleum industry. These process are then divided into sixteen subsidiaries, listed below:[4]

Supreme Petroleum Council

The Supreme Petroleum Council acts as the board of directors for ADNOC.

Transportation

Through its subsidiaries the company operates several airports. The Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations operates Buhasa Airport and Jebel Dhana Airport. The Zakum Development Company operates Arzanah Airport, Qarnayn Airport and Zirku Airport. The Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company operates Das Island Airport.[5]
