Abunayyan Holding, founded in 1950, is a Saudi company that specializes in the power and water business. Based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the company best known for its solutions through core activities including engineering, manufacturing, supply, construction, and service. It also accommodates around 4,500 employees in its subsidiaries in the Middle East and North Africa.[1]

History

Abunayyan Holding had been originally established as a family business by Abdullah R. Abunayyan. This man improved the agricultural sector by introducing Saudi to the diesel-powered turbine pump. So Saudi farmers could easily irrigates their lands instead of using livestock to extract water from wells. Continuing his revolutionary contribution, Abdullah challenged the limits and introduced the pressure-regulated pump for people to use it in their houses. By doing this, the company became popular for providing combined solutions for water, power, oil, and gas.[2]

In order for the company to provide local, combined solutions, Abunayyan Holding created many Strategic Business Units including subsidiaries, joint ventures with leading multinationals, and home grown partnerships with other conglomerates . Abunayyan Trading Corporation (ATC)

Abunayyan Trading Corporation, founded in 1952, is known for providing industrial, irrigation, and water management solutions in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region. Since it is totally aware of the area's environment and conditions, this company preserves the land's natural resources. ATC also provides products and supplies for water, wastewater, and heavy machinery parts.

Abunayyan Electric Corporation (AEC)

Abunayyan Electric Corporation, found in 1990, is a company which provides products in the lighting, wiring, IT, security, and power market. It is also the equipment distributors to the retail and commercial market such as Schneider products. And it is the only agent for many other international brands in the Kingdom.

Abunayyan Meters (AM)

Abunayyan Meters, founded in 1981, provides water metering solutions in both Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. It was the first water-meter manufacturer in the Gulf region. The company was known as Saudi Meter Company, but later was owned by Abunayyan Holding in 2013 and named Abunayyan Meters.

Toray Membrane Middle East LLC (TORAY)

Toray Membrane Middle East LLC (TMME) is a joint venture between Abunayyan Holding and Toray Industries in water and wastewater treatment technologies. It plans to construct a world scale production factory in Dammam to produce reverse osmosis (RO) membrane elements in 2015.[3]

ACWA Holding

ACWA Holding, founded in 2002, is joint venture between Abunayyan Holding and Al Muhaidib Group. This joint venture has its own economic and social vision in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. It invests in different projects and services including power and water management, district cooling, civil contracting, pipe, aluminum and chemicals manufacturing, and industrial mining. It also includes the development of industrial cities, commercial and residential real estate, and facilities management and transportation.[4]

ACWA POWER

ACWA Power, established in 2004, is a private power and water project developer in the Gulf region. And later it has become the largest private producer of water, and a major generator of power in Saudi. ACWA Power uses 30,000 megawatts of gross contracted power capacity and five million cubic meters a day of gross desalinated water by 2014, with 5 percent of its power generation coming from renewable energy sources.[5]

Citiscape

Citiscape, founded in 2005, is a company that provides landscape design and construction services in the Gulf region. Citiscape worked for prestigious clients such as the UAE. Ministry of Presidential Affairs and on landmark projects such as the Yas Island Formula One circuit and the Palm Jumeirah. Citiscape. It mainly tends to provide outdoor solutions as the region focuses on environmental, friendly landscapes.[6]

KSB Pumps Arabia Ltd

KSB Pumps Arabia, established in 1993, is a joint venture between Luxembourg's KSB Finanz S.A. and Abunayyan Trading. The company offered services and activities in the water, wastewater, building services, industry and energy applications such as business development and marketing, supply chain, manufacturing of booster sets and pump assemblies, selling pumps, valves and systems and technical service activities, and training. KSB Pumps Arabia became one of the biggest cooling projects in the Kingdom, with a market share of the more than 75 percent. What distinguished these pumps is the fact that they were manufactured under the toughest conditions so they could challenge environmental conditions in the Kingdom.[7]
